Innovation & Growth: How to Find and Seize Great Opportunities

James B. Swartz, the bestselling business author of SEEING DAVID IN THE STONE, will kick off the expo with the keynote address, “How to Find and Seize Great Opportunities." Throughout both days, the expo will also feature special presentations; all open to the public. These presentations will address the six biggest challenges facing Maryland business: 1) Financing 2) Technology 3) Health Care 4) Workforce 5) Energy Costs 6) Taxes

MD Biz Expo has been designed by CPAs to help Maryland businesses and organizations make sense of the rapidly-changing world in which we find ourselves – the core purpose of the CPA profession. This past year, there have been numerous reasons for Maryland businesses to be concerned – rising fuel costs, credit crunch, increasing taxes, people shortages, keeping up with technology, and globalization.

• Keynote: The public is invited to attend the keynote address by James B. Swartz, the author of SEEING DAVID IN THE STONE and day-one CPE attendees will also attend the keynote as part of their CPE requirement. Learn about the keynote speaker.
• Ceremony and Reception (special invitation to MACPA members, special guests, and families): On Tuesday evening, Secretary Thomas Perez of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation will administer an oath to newly licensed Certified Public Accountants at a special swearing-in ceremony. These new CPAs are committed to meet the future demands of Maryland’s business community.
• 6 General Sessions: The public is invited to attend special presentations about challenges facing Maryland business: Financing, Technology, Health Care, Workforce, Enery Costs and Taxes. These sessions are included in the exhibit hall admission ticket / guest pass for no additional charge.
